The Maharashtra State GST Department recorded a robust revenue performance in the financial Year 2025-26, with total collections from Goods and Service Tax( GST), value Added Tax and Professional tax reaching Rs. 2,51,256 crore, registering a growth of 12.6 per cent over the previous year’s collection of Rs. 2,23,087 crore. In terms of GST revenue among states, Maharashtra has secured the top position in the country, with collections more than double that of the second highest state. This strong growth is attributed to enhanced domestic consumption following rate rationalization, coupled with consistent efforts of the tax administration.
