Burning controversy about SC verdict against NJAC Hon’ble Vice President of India, Mr. Jagdeep Dhankhar who is also an Advocate and Rajya Sabha Chair Person opined on the captioned title as under: “There is no parallel to such development in democratic history where a duly legitimized constitutional prescription has been judicially undone, a glaring instance of severe compromise on Parliamentary Sovereignty.” NJAC was a “much needed historic step. The legislation received unprecedented support in Parliament. The Lock Sabha passed it unanimously, in August, 2014, followed by Rajya Sabha, where there was just one abstention.
