– That people are leaving the U.K. in view of recent harsh tax regime on account of following reasons:
In the U.K. there was a law known as ‘Non Dom Regime’ which meant that Non Domicile Income or Income from outside of the U.K. was not taxed in the U.K. Therefore, people moved to the U.K.
In last one year, the U.K. government has made/proposed three major changes in this regard.
In October 2024, Capital Gains tax was increased from 20% to 24%.
In April 2025, the ‘Non Dom Regime’ was abolished which resulted in people paying tax even on total Global Income.
Now inheritance tax @ 40% would apply to all these assets in Non-Domicile countries, and
And now the U.K. government has proposed to pass a law by which any person leaving the U.K. would be required to pay 20% EXIT TAX on all the unrealized capital gains on these assets.
– That Capital gains arising out of sale of deprecia.......
