Our dearest Association (GST Practitioners’ Association of Maharashtra) is now in 75th year of its existence. When I look into retrospect there are number of memories which come to my mind. I got involved in taxation practice in my article-ship period. In article-ship, there was audit work as well as certain taxation work. At that time, audit was to be done manually with ticking from cash book to Ledger etc. with red/green pencils. It was very monotonous and I was not much interested in the same. I changed my article-ship and joined the firm of Shri L. P. Selarka. There much of the work was relating to sales tax. I found the work interesting. After completing my CA in 1982, I started practice as CA. I took up work of Sales tax matters as it was easy to get sales tax work as compared to Income Tax. Since 1983, I was attending Sales Tax office at Mazgaon and slowly became familiar with the activities of the then Sales Tax Practitioners’ Association (STPA) subsequen.......
