In the year 1981 I started practicing on Sales Tax as an employee of a Sales Tax Practitioner. Since then I am associated with this Association. Initially I was attending only Study Circle Meetings, being free of cost, in Mazgaon Library Hall which were always at 01 p.m. on alternate Friday. It was useful for every practitioner to know the latest judgments, amendments, Circulars issued by Commissioner and for solving the day to day issues while attending before the authorities and advising the clients. Gradually I started attending the paid seminars and Residential Refresher Courses also. During those days to hear the stalwarts was like Bhagwat Gita as every word and every experience shared by them was giving courage to firmly stand before the authorities during assessments and appeals. The point to be noted was, though only R. V. Patel, N. C. Mehta, J. K. Sheth, B. C. Joshi, G. S. Jetly, P. V. Surte, S. S. Gaitonde and P. C. Joshi (8 Stalwarts) used to address the big semin.......
