I feel this is a very important topic in the back-drop of Covid-19 scenario whereby patients should know their rights and responsibilities when admitted to hospitals. During Covid-19 pandemic, which was prevailing in the world including Mumbai, the State Government almost mandatorily admitted covid-19 patients to hospitals for medical treatment. It is very interesting to note that just 15 days back, the Doctor who is the head of ‘Task Force’ appointed by the State Government, fighting for Covid-19 scenario confirmed on TV that still there is “no medicine for covid-19”. On this background, it is an ironical state of affairs that the hospitals where covid-19 patients were admitted, raised bills running into lakhs of rupees for Covid -19 treatment. Now the question comes to our mind is as to why the amount of bills treating the Covid Patients is so high? It has proven a high voltage shock to the poor and middle-class patients. .......
